My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rodger is FIV+. He can be around other cat-friendly cats as FIV is not as contagious as they once thought. In fact, he lives with several other cats.

Rodger was born on 5/1/19 and is a brown tabby from Roswell. His favorite past-times are looking out windows, sitting on window sills, exploring his foster home, and playing. He's a teen boy kitty, so he has a good amount of energy and likes to play with ping pong balls, pole toys, soft toys, and kick toys. He can be picked up (properly of course). He likes to be brushed and has learned to use a cardboard scratcher, not counter jump (NO and finger snap gets him down), and nap on my bed.

Because Rodger is FIV+, he needs to be an indoor kitty. He eats both dry and wet food (not mixed together), and has a good appetite. A high-quality food will keep his coat in good condition.

Though he should start in a “safe room”, Rodger does well with other cats. When hissed at, he walks away. He likes to box and wrestle with other kitties. He wanders around with a fast pace saying “ggrrrrrr” (so cute!) and sits contentedly on his side between rounds of exploring. He would do best with another kitty of similar age and/or a human who enjoys playing with him.

Rodger is current on all shots, neutered and micro-chipped.

Rodger’s approximate DOB: 5/1/19

More about this rescue

Our Story
When my mother, June, passed away she had a senior cat named “Ninety Nine.” No one in our family wanted her, so I decided to drive to California to get Ninety Nine. On the long drive home, I decided that I had to do something to help the senior cats who are left homeless when their owner passes away or becomes too ill to care for them. That’s when June’s Senior Cat Rescue was born. Thanks, mom for inspiring me to help the seniors!

Mission
To provide abandoned and homeless senior cats with a safe haven to live the rest of their days in peace, comfort, love, and to ensure they receive the best humankind has to offer.

Vision
To create a world where senior cats are no longer discarded or overlooked, but are instead appreciated, valued, and desired for the extraordinary souls they are.
