My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

COURTESY POST - SUNAPEE, NH-Owners contact info is at the bottom of the bio\

Meet Echo! A one-year old Blue Merle Australian Shepherd with a big heart and a huge personality. Looking for something to keep you busy, shower you in love, and be ready for any adventure? Then you need Echo.

Echo was originally adopted from a breeder in Ohio, and came to live with his family when he was about ten weeks old. Unfortunately, over this last year - Echo has struggled with aggression towards their other older German Shepherd. In order to keep both dogs safe, happy, and in environments they feel safe in, the family thought it best to rehome Echo.

Despite the growing frustration he has for his dog brother, Echo does well in many other settings. He enjoys greeting his family anytime they return home, and as soon as they're awake in the morning - he's ready to start his day too. When he's not snuggling or giving kisses, he LOVES to be outdoors. As you know with Australian Shepherds, they're full of energy. Echo is the same. Rain, sunshine, snow, ponds, woods, or mountains - Echo is ready for adventure. Plus, he loves car rides - he even taught himself how to roll down the windows in their car when he's riding in the passenger seat.

While he would likely do best as the only dog in the house, they've only experienced his aggression towards their other dog. He's great with the family and visitors they've had, and is a great friend to their nine-year old child. They do have a cat, but the cat likes his privacy - so we can not determine how well he'd function with a cat at this time. They confirmed that he's never been aggressive towards the cat, just curious.

It is with huge hearts of sadness this family is choosing to part with their pup. Their biggest preferences in his new family would be that they live an active lifestyle that Echo could be a part of, willing to practice socialization, LOTS of space to roam and play (a farm would be best!!) and people willing to dedicate time and energy into continuing his teaching and giving him all the love.

He does know several commands: sit, stay, up (he'll dance on his back legs), paw, easy, and kisses. He's a good eater, and has no problem sleeping at night. He is vaccinated up to date, weighs about 60lbs and was recently neutered back in June as well. He's fully potty trained, and is always up to learning and experiencing more. They do brush him regularly since he has such long hair, and recommend the new family do the same to maintain his coat and prevent matting.

They're open to sending along any additional information you may need, more photos, his bed, toys, treats, and food to make this as seamless a transition as possible for him. Currently located in New Hampshire, they would be willing to meet within a two-hour distance to help facilitate the transfer.

Let's find Echo his forever!
