My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet handsome Buddy who is looking for a foster or furever home.

Here's the lowdown on him - Buddy's owner had him for two years. We were told she took him in after she found him abandoned and emaciated. Sadly, this owner kept him living outside; on a chain or in a pen that he frequently escaped. After one such escape, he came home with his leg injured. He was brought to the vet and they said his leg was fine how it was! We don't know the full circumstances, but when a volunteer went check on Buddy after he had then been attacked by another dog, she knew he needed help immediately. He was taken to the ER where it was determined Buddy would have to have his leg amputated. We made him a Diamond and he has been living as a tripod for about a year now!

Buddy is a very sweet, affectionate boy, but because of his past and extreme prey drive, he would do best as an only pet. He gets around just fine as a tripod and loves to explore and sniff everything! Buddy would also do best in a dog experience home with low traffic.

Buddy LOVES going on adventures at all the local parks!  He enjoys meeting people and afterwards will chill with a chew bone and take a nap.

Please apply today to meet Buddy!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require each applicant to complete an adoption application, followed by a home visit. We also contact personal and veterinarian references. We want to make sure that the next home our furbabies go to, is their last, and that they will be loved like a member of the family.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster based rescue, but do also have a small shelter. You can contact us at diamondunderdogs@yahoo.com to setup an appointment to come out and check out some of our adoptables.

More about this rescue

Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue is a non profit animal rescue organization that is run by a dedicated group of volunteers. Our mission is to protect the welfare of animals, one life at a time, from unnecessary euthanasia. From high kill shelters to foster homes to caring adoptive families, Diamonds in the Ruff handles every aspect of the rescue process. Our animals are examined, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and receive necessary medical treatment. Foster homes are used to provide sanctuary and ensure a successful placement. Our goal is to make the adoption process a kind, informative and rewarding experience because we believe that every animal can become a treasured family pet.

Why we do it:
4 million animals are euthanized each year in the United States.
That is 300,000 a month
Over 11,000 each day
Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue works tirelessly to decrease this statistic.
