Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bear, Male, Akbash, 4.5 years old, 125 lbs.
Want a pet polar bear anyone~or at least a good imitation of one? This impressive fella is a big affectionate goof and also a closet genius.
Bear is quite well trained. He knows sit, lay down, wait, back, and more. He walks well on leash and has good recall. Bear’s favourite show off move is to do his happy circus bear routine. This consists of standing on his back legs, leaping in the air, doing a 360 spin and flopping on his back, in the Akbashes’ favourite position, to receive belly rubs. This guy exudes character!
Bear is a country boy who has spent most of his life doing what his breed was born to do, protect livestock. In Bear’s case, he spent most of his life as an outdoor dog protecting his herd of horses, but he also has excellent house manners. He has been a 100% clean and doesn’t counter surf, which is remarkable considering his height. He would make a great companion/working dog combo.
Breed experienced people will have no trouble guiding Bear to accept and bond with animals and people. He bonded to his foster people quickly and has been a devoted gentle boy with zero aggression. Bear does put on a great guardian show to strange people on his property but will stop when told and is quick to accept them as friends.
If you are looking for a big gentle companion and protector, there is none better than Bear.
Bear has been neutered, microchipped and his vaccinations are up to date. The adoption fee for Bear is $500.00.
