My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Sophia and the Bambinos are ready to start their new lives!  Mama Sophia was spotted on the streets of Texas, very very pregnant.  We were asked to help if possible.  We know that if we didn't, the chances of the babies surviving on the street were practically zero due to weather, disease and predators.  We got Mama into a safe home just in the nick of time!  The next night the pups were born and quickly transported to Buffalo.  The pups are 10 weeks old and a mix of sizes and personalities.  Mama Sophia, well we aren't quite sure what her breed mix is but she looks to have Staffordshire terrier in her.  She is short but long and we have come to believe that the dad is a husky/shepherd mix.   The puppies will likely be 20+ pounds so between medium and large breed dogs.

The puppies have lived in one foster home and have been with their mom the entire time.  They also live with other dogs and a couple of cats.  They have known nothing but love from their foster home.  All 9 have been healthy, happy and energetic dogs.  Mama Sophia has a wonderful and loving personality and has been a great mom to these pups.  These pups are smart and confident - learning things quickly, mostly by trying to imitate their mom!  They learned to go outside and could easily spend the entire day out there if allowed.  They hate having to come back inside and let their foster mom hear their frustration!  The pups like to den, like a husky and are very vocal and talkative like them also.  not all of them would be appropriate for apartment life so please check their profiles for specifics.  Although they are only babies, they are doing great on the housetraining.  Now we are not saying they are housetrained (there are 9 for goodness sake!) but once they get that one-on-one attention, we know they will pick it up fast!  They know what they are supposed to do outside and get lots of praise when they have a successful potty.  They have a fully fenced yard in their foster home and that helps.  They have not been introduced to the crate or a leash yet.  Puppies are blank slates and they will need lots of training, love and patience to get them to be great dogs!   They have had a great start!  The puppies have always been together and will need some extra love when they are initially separated from the pack. Please be prepared for a few long nights and a lot of crying as they adjust to their new lives without their siblings.

Well we said we don't like to pick favorites but Mama Sophia has definitely picked Viola as her favorite!  We think it's because she is her little mini me!  If Viola cries out, Mama comes running to give whoever messed with her baby a stern warning.  And Viola loves being babied by her and her foster mom!  She is happy to play with her siblings and likes to chase the bigger dogs in her foster home.  She can be found napping with just about anyone.  She makes sure she is heard when she is frustrated or angry too!  Viola is just a little bundle of happy, wagging tail love!

Viola is current on age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, treated for fleas/worms and examined by a full-service veterinarian.    We are requiring a spay/neuter contract to be signed at the time of adoption (the cost of her spay is included in her adoption fee and fully explained in the contract).  . She is scheduled to be spayed at Operation Pets in August 2022 and it will be the adopter's responsibility to take her to the appointment.
