Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Niko has resumed the search for his FUREVER home. He was adopted out, but returned when it was clear that he was too energetic for his older canine companion.
Niko is a 2 year oldi mini Aussie who weighs about 35 pounds. He is beyond adorable! Niko was rescued from a shelter in Virginia, and when he came to us, had some flea dermatitis. It has been treated and his beautiful black tri coat is filling in nicely!
He is a very loving boy that listens well and is eager to learn. He is a VERY high energy pup who loves to play and run in the yard but also enjoys some rest time in his crate. Niko, like most Aussies, can be vocal at times. He adores being next to his humans and gives the best hugs and cuddles. Niko is house trained and crate trained.
Niko does very well with most dogs but can be selective and will need some ongoing training for leash and barrier reactivity to other dogs. With a slow introduction and personality match, he would be a great buddy to another dog or would be happy as an only dog as well.
If you have a dog, a meet and greet between the dogs is mandatory. He is amazing with people, including children. It is recommended that Niko has a fenced yard and that his adopter has Australian Shepherd or herding dog experience.
If you think this fun, precious boy is for you, please apply today! Niko is being fostered in Alexandria, VA.
