Baloo has just made it into a good foster home and has just starting a new training class. He will be officially available for adoption mid March, but we will consider potential local adopters able to continue his training in Longmont.
Baloo is a big, sweet baby. He's a big boy at about 85 lbs. and very strong and confident. But he's also a big softie and absolutely loves to spend time with his family.
Baloo is friendly and behaved on leash around other dogs, but would be best as the only dog in his home or could possibly live with a friendly female doggie companion that can tolerate a boisterous, playful dog like Baloo. Baloo cannot live with another large, dominant breed male dog or small dogs or cats.
Baloo will be a wonderful family dog and woudl love a big family with older kids. Children over 8 would be best for Baloo due to his size.
Because of Baloo's size and color he's considered a more at risk dog for an already at risk breed that suffers most from irresponsible ownership. Because of this we are only considering mature, stable families that own their homes and have large breed dog experience. His new family will need to be prepared to continue his training and will need to prove they are responsible, committed dog owners that can take great care of our big guy.

Adoption Requirements
*CPBR rarely makes same sex placements for purebred pit bulls, exceptions only for mixes and breed savvy, multi-dog experienced owners, all pets in the home must be spayed/neutered
*Adopters must be at least 25 years old (exceptions may be made for homeowners that show a history of stability and responsibility).
*We check property records. You must either be a home owner or get approval from your landlord and be able to provide us with contact info to verify that pit bulls are allowed.
*We are looking for responsible dog owners that can show they have done their research. These are people that undertand why pit bulls should not be taken to dog parks, left outside unattended, and why pit bulls should always be supervised with other animals.
Adoption Process
Requires references, home visit, contract and $150-$250 adoption fee depending on vetting and training provided . All dogs are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, de-wormed, heartworm tested and on preventative, health checked and microchipped at a minimum
