Piper is an 18.4 pound, two-and-a-half-year-old Rat Terrier and Dachshund mix. We know this for sure because her previous owner had a DNA test done. Unfortunately, there was a separation and a housing issue. They were not able to keep her and give her what she deserves. Piper lived in an apartment and wasn't getting any socialization. When she first meets people, she is extremely shy and skittish. In her foster home her foster Mom kept her close and within a day she had warmed up and wanted attention. She has the sweetest temperament and not a mean bone in her body. She loves toys and playing with other dogs. She is a speed demon, running circles around her foster's other smaller dogs. Pipers ideal home includes a large, fenced yard with a companion dog to play with and burn off some of her energy. An already socialized dog would help her gain confidence. A home too busy would overwhelm her. A quieter home where she could be with her family most of the time would be great. She will require new owners who will be patient with her and slowly introduce her to new situations and people. An older gentle child in need of a friend might be match. She is so sweet and has so much love to give. Piper is spayed, up to date and chipped. Her adoption fee is $275.
