Bear is a cute 6-year old male Chihuahua mix who was brought to the HSOV on June 23, 2022 by a Good Samaritan who found him on Ingleside Avenue in Marietta Ohio (Norwood neighborhood area). Bear was accompanied by his best friend Bentley (who is a brown/brindle Chihuahua mix). Neither of the boys were wearing a collar, and they were no microchipped.
Bear has a tan short smooth coat, a long tail, and an adorable face with characteristic features of the Chihuahua breed including dark eyes, a black button nose on his slender muzzle, and large erect ears.
This little guy was understandably pretty nervous and frightened being in an unfamiliar place with people that he did not know (and so many other dogs nearby). Bear doesn't quite grasp the fact that our kennel techs are his 'guardian angels' who are looking out for his best interests and our shelter staff are doing their best to locate his family.
Bear weighs 17 lbs. He doesn't appear to be accustomed to walking on a leash.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Bear will be held for three days so that his family will have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership.
Since he was not reclaimed, Bear was neutered on August 5, 2022 and was also given rabies vaccine.
