My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Approximate Date of Birth:5/5/2021

Description:

Hi I'm Lil Fig and I am a blast to play with. I love to roll around and play with your hands when you try to tickle my belly. Since I am active, I need a place to explore and room to play. I enjoy my scratching tree and like to dangle from the top like a monkey. I might be a little shy and reserved at first, but I will warm up quickly with some playtime with you as I learn that I can trust you. I have been with other kitty friends and I will hiss when they get too close, but I enjoy playing with them under the door or from a distance. I do love to cuddle in my foster sisters lap and just hang out under the covers. I also like to wait by the door for you come in.

Words to Describe Me: playful, active, fun

Favorite Place to Sleep: Bed

Favorite Toy: anything that rolls

Perfect Day: batting toys around and knocking things off the counter

Kitty's Likes: playing with pens and anything I can bat around

Kitty's Dislikes: be close with other kitties

Fastest Way to Get Me to Purr: laptime with pets and attention

Favorite Treat: Friskies wet food: seafood flavors

Job Title in Foster: The stinker

  • Good with Cats:   Can only live with other Felv+ cats.

  • Good with Dogs:  Ambivalent towards dogs.

  • Good with Children: Can live in a house with children over the age of 8.

  • Companion Animal: Not necessary.

Health information: All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, FeLV / FIV tested (as indicated by age), receive vaccinations appropriate for age, preventative deworming, and microchipping prior to adoption as appropriate by age.

Fig tested positive for    FeLV    therefore would need to be in a home with other FeLV kitties (or adopt another FeLV kitty in the rescue).

Adoption Process:   Our adoptable animals are located at one of our adoption centers or in foster homes. We require interested parties to apply prior to meeting to ensure a good match. Applications can be submitted on our website at  www.savingonelife.org/adopt/apply.

Additional adoption info

We will adopt to out of state adopters but we do NOT ship animals under any conditions. You must come to us in person to meet the animal and make sure it is a mutual match. We have had many adopters come from the states around us and drive or fly with their new family member back.

Some of our "ready to adopt" felines are located at one of our Arizona PetSmart locations. https://www.savingonelife.org/adopt/locations/

We also have a small satellite operation in San Diego with adoption events on select Saturdays at the PetSmart Escondido store.

We highly recommend applying in advance in order to increase your opportunity at adopting the kitty you are interested in. Applications are processed in the order they were received. If you have questions, please email adoptions@savingonelife.org.

More about this rescue

Saving One Life is a completely foster based, volunteer run, never kill rescue. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save.

If you find a litter of kittens or your cat accidentally got pregnant - please contact us if you are able to foster them at intake@savingonelife.org. We cannot take in more animals without foster homes. All supplies and vet care will be taken care of - all you have to do is open your home and heart to them until they can find homes of their own!

All of our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for felv/fiv (Cats), dewormed, and microchipped. Adoption fees range depending on the animal's age and breed. All adoption fees assist other animals in our care - we do not have any paid employees. We are a completely never kill group that provides sanctuary to any "unadoptable" animals that come into our care including hospice care.
