My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

WildRescue recently rescued over 1,000 animals from the raid on US Global Exotics. As a result, all of these animals are now adoptable to you!

We have 5 White's tree frogs up for adoption. These are beautiful frogs, and they make wonderful terrarium-dwelling companions. They have gentle personalities and don't mind being held for show (be sure to clean and wet your hands before touching them), but they are not the type of pet that will or should sit on your shoulder and hang out with you. They'll need to spend almost all of their time in a nice, big terrarium. We recommend a minimum of a 20 gallon terrarium for these frogs, but the bigger (and taller) the better. Depending on the size of their enclosure you can house a few of these guys together if you'd like, but they should not be mixed with other species.

An appropriate environment setup for White's tree frogs would include plenty of hiding spots and branches to climb on to mimic a dense tropical forest region. They should have about 70% humidity in their tank. They are nocturnal, so lighting is not a concern, but an under-tank heater is recommended to maintain warmth and humidity. Their diet should consist primarily of gut-loaded large crickets, but they will also eat cockroaches, locusts, moths and beetles. Insects should be dusted with calcium & vitamins 3 times a week, with the frogs being fed daily. As a general rule, frogs can only eat an insect if it is the same size or smaller as the distance between the frog's eyes.

Their enclosure should be spot cleaned daily, with a more thorough cleaning every month or two. White vinegar on a warm, wet washcloth is a perfect nontoxic cleaner. Be sure to thoroughly rinse the enclosure before replacing the substrate and placing the frog back in the enclosure. Their environment should be misted two or more times a day with de-chlorinated (not distilled) water. A large water dish with a depth of about four inches is required for the frogs to soak in.

If you have further questions or are interested in adopting a White's tree frog, please email us at wildrescuetexas@gmail.com . The adoption fee for each frog is $20. Please consider adoption first before buying animals from pet stores.
