Mama Apple and her six puppies Angel, Amber, Alamo, Axel, Alvin, and Abbie were transferred from a partner rescue in Texas. Apple was left tied to a chain and the owners threatened to dump them all in a field if SSR didn't take them. They will be traveling to the Virginia area on May 6th and, as long as they appear healthy, will be coming to the event on May 7th.
Update 5/12/22: I got Alvin on May 7th. The first night he cried and howled in his crate. I guess that was the first time he was away from mom and siblings. Now he goes in the crate at night and sleeps all night. He walks well on a leash, he does pull some. So with work he would be an excellent running or hiking buddy. He plays very well with his foster sister and brother. At first he was shy and would bark and growl. He still barks at neighborhood dogs, but his tail is wagging the whole time. So I think its a confidence thing, he doesn't know what to do. He likes meeting new people and getting attention. He does great with my grandchildren also, but he can knock little ones down. He likes to jump up on people and kids. He does have a prey drive with birds and squirrels. I dont know about cats. He ignored the neighborhood cats on a walk. He is very treat motivated so obedience training will be easy. So far he hasn't had an accident in my house. He goes outside to potty.
