My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Poppy. I’m a beautiful, slightly older (maybe 4-5yrs, maybe less?) Calico kitty. I was found living at a city park only a week ago. It’s a good thing I was found, you see, I’m missing a few claws on my front feet (not all, just a couple or so - weird right?) so I’m less able to defend myself from dogs or bully cats. I’m not sure how long I was there but when I was noticed by two ladies who started to call me, I was so happy I started kneading while I was running toward them. Well, running and kneading don’t mix 😊 – it was so funny - I’d run a couple of feet, stop, and knead for a few moments and then run again just to have to stop and knead again. I was SO HAPPY!!!!

As you can see in my pictures, I’m a beautiful white Calico (that’s a calico who has a lot of white in her fur). I also have a very distinct tail! It’s a bit shorter and fatter than the normal cat tail. My face is also full & round. Somewhere in my genetic past I must have had a British Sort hait in the mix 😉. But either way I am a beautiful and unusual kitty.

I used to be somebody’s indoor cat because I was already spayed. How I lost that home I’m not sure but what I am sure of is that I really like being inside a home again with a family. I’m purring and kneading a lot these days. In fact, I purr so hard at times I even chortle – that’s when I make bubbling noises while I purr. I sure love to sleep on my foster mom’s bed. Beds are the best! It beats sleeping in the dirt under a bush at the park. I’m a quiet kitty and enjoy a laid-back day – sleeping in the sun, sitting on your lap, being petted, having a treat or two – you know, a typical cat day. I have been getting along pretty well with the other adult foster cats, but the kittens are too rambunctious for me. So, I probably will do best in a quiet home by myself or with another adult friendly cat.

As I said, I’m already spayed so I’m ready to go to my forever family right now! Do you think you could give this sweet, slightly older kitty (that’s me!) another chance at love and a family? I’m sure I’d be a loving addition and it would be my dream come true to find a forever home with you. You can call or text me at 602-757-9791 and ask for Deb. Or email me at drtweets2@msn.com I’ll be waiting to hear from you!
