UPDATE: Colonel Kurtz has been diagnosed with Chronic Rhinitis with a likely tumor in his sinus cavity. His being a more severe form of rhinitis, he will very likely need medication for the remainder of his life. Currently he requires daily medication and lots of nose wipes. How well the rhinitis is controlled can vary from day to day. He will need a home that will be able to address his health needs so at this point he requires a "hospice foster" home. https://www.kingsdale.com/chronic-rhinitis-in-cats-causes-symptoms-and-treatment
Colonel Kurtz had been in Fight Club for most of his life. When he got tired of getting beat up he found a family who took his shabby, scabby self off the streets and brought him to us. He was so terrified he was trembling and panting. We put a Calming Collar on him, put him in a cage with a warm bed and some yummy canned food (he was STARVING!), after that he started to settle in to this new life. He now loves human attention and for a long time (before he became ill) he was our kitten whisperer. The kittens were drawn to him and he was patient and kind with them. We jokingly called him "Uncle Kurtz" He is very calm and enjoys others around him to be the same. He used to be extremely reactive to dogs in the building, but now he keeps space between himself and a dog, but stays close enough to observe.
If you would like to meet this quiet, sweet boy please submit an online adoption/foster application on our website www.littleorphans.org. Please allow our team to process the info and you will be contacted by phone or email for the next step.
