Chicago, IL – Adopt a Lovely Pair of Abyssinian Guinea Pig Sisters

Sparkle and Carly are an adorable pair of one-year-old Abyssinian sister guinea pigs looking for a loving guardian together.

Carly is a black and white with rosettes and cowlicks in her fur. Sparkle is a brown agouti Abyssinian with a slight head tilt left over from a previous ear infection. The infection is gone, but the head tilt remains. She needs no further treatment, and the head tilt doesn’t affect her.

These gorgeous girls get along beautifully and lost their home when the children in the home became allergic to them.

The girls eat unlimited timothy, orchard and botanical hays, share two cups of fresh salad each day and a 1/4 cup of pellets. Guinea pigs need daily vitamin C which they get from fresh pellets, a 1-inch square of red pepper, or some of their dark leafy greens.

Please read up on guinea pig care and diet before adopting by visiting this excellent web site http://www.guinealynx.info/

They would love a home with people who will love them, handle them daily, keep them well-fed, nails trimmed, and keep their habitat nice and clean.

If you’re interested in meeting and possibly adopting Sparkle and Carly, please fill out the adoption application at https://friendsofpetraits.com/guinea-pig-adoption-application/ and follow up to make an appointment to meet the girls by contacting friendsofpetraits@gmail.com

Their adoption fee of $50 as a pair benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue Group. For an additional $50, we’ll include a kit of absolutely everything you need to care for them including their cage, pellets, hay, hidey hut, treats, and water bottle.

They are being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
