My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bitsy, a pretty, one-eyed, 4 year old, 7lbs, terrier mix with a big, furry mane! Bitsy was rescued after being abandoned in a canyon! How could anyone leave such a tiny girl behind? She somehow survived but ended up injuring her eye. She had to have it removed but is all healthy now! She has no disabilities and gets around just fine! She does have eye drops for her remaining eye to keep it healthy and moist since it has to do all the work now! After all she has been through, Bitsy can be a little nervous meeting new people or being in new environments. She seems to prefer women but is starting to open up with our male volunteers now too! She also LOVES treats and you can win her heart easily with a tasty morsel! Once she gets comfortable, Bitsy will be your biggest fan! She is very submissive and loves to stretch out on her back for belly rubs. She will chase you around nibbling on your pant leg or toes to get your attention. She likes to hang out on the headrests of the couch like a cat! At night, she will cuddle in the blankets with you! Basically, she is just happy to always be with you! Bitsy gets along with other dogs and cats but definitely prefers people. She is starting to become friends with some of our very small dogs her size but she stays away from our larger dogs. She is quite spunky. Bitsy doesn't play much with other animals, but she will entertain herself with a toy by throwing it in the air and chasing after it, then shaking it around! As we said though, her special person is the most important of all. Even while playing, if you walk out of the room, she will drop everything to follow you. We think she would do best in a home without small children. Bitsy is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, crate trained and we're working on housebreaking her--she picked up bad habits in that canyon! She knows to go to the bathroom outside, but she needs frequent potty breaks to ensure no accidents in the house.
