My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Frankie is looking for her furever home! Prior to rescue, she was found homeless and very pregnant. Since rescue, she gave birth to 9 beautiful bouncing babies and watched all get their furever homes. Now it’s her turn!

Frankie is a 40 lb, 1 to 1 ½ year old heeler/aussie mix, totally vetted, spayed, microchipped, and on preventatives.

Frankie is excellent – she gets along with other dogs, cats, humans, and kids! She’s young and active yet not hyper, she’s super smart and easily trainable.

She was a stray, so she has some learning to do. She’s learning house manners - as in no counter surfing and please don’t chew that…she does chew stuff with fluffy insides if she is bored and alone. She’s learning to greet folks by not jumping up on them. And she’s having to learn a bit more on proper play – but the dogs are teaching her that! She quickly learned sit, wait, free, and shake and she’ll be doing some leash walking now that her motherhood is subsiding.

She doesn’t have food or toy aggressiveness (she eats alongside other dogs), she’s not a nipper, and she is dog-door trained. She definitely likes belly rubs, back rubs, and a good snooze on the couch – the good dog life! Her perfect home would include activity - walking, hiking, and playing - and her quiet time would include just hanging out with her people. Frankie is a super loveable, young gal looking for her home!
