My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

2 year old Jackson is looking for his forever people!

Jackson is the cutest little floofball there is! Despite being deaf, Jackson is incredibly smart and it doesn’t slow him down. He’s picking up hand signs and learning from watching his big foster siblings, who he gets along with great! Jackson was diagnosed with Megaesophagus and needs a family that can support him so that he can live out his best life ever!

What is Megaesophagus and how is it treated?

Megaesophagus is a disorder in which the esophagus dilates and loses its ability to move food to the stomach. This causes the food to accumulate in the esophagus and can lead to regurgitation.

Overall treatment involves managing the symptoms to help the food go down to digest. Jackson will need to be fed ALL his meals in a Bailey Chair (second photo) which gets him in an upright position about 45-90 degrees to the floor and will need to remain in the chair for at least 15 minutes after feeding. He already is great at getting in his chair and staying in it to eat!

If you feel like you are the perfect fit for Jackson and ready to give him all the support he needs in return for cute cuddles, loads of fun, and cuteness in his very own high chair then visit https://texashuskyrescue.org/apply-to-adopt/

More about this rescue

Mission: To rescue, rehabilitate, and find qualified loving homes for neglected, abused, and unwanted Huskies throughout Texas. To educate the public about responsible pet ownership and the special qualities of the Siberian Husky Breed.

History: Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. was created in May 2009 as a non-profit 501(c)3 animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers and does not have a paid staff or a shelter. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc relies solely on volunteer foster families to take huskies into their homes until permanent, qualified, and loving homes can be found. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is a responsible animal adoption agency and requires that all dogs over 6 months are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We ensure that none of our dogs will ever contribute to the overpopulation of dogs in our community. The work of Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is supported by tax-deductible contributions by individuals, corporations, and grants.
