PLEASE scroll down and read the ENTIRE BIO. It is lengthy but has ALL INFO we know. Emailing and asking for more info is only going to hold up your process and risk your chances of the dog you want being gone. JOEY is in SALEM, Ohio. HE is fully vetted including neuter/microchip/rabies (if old enough)/Bordetella/parvo distemper vaccine/worming/heartworm-flea prevent while at the shelter. We do not ship dogs, we do not transport dogs, we do not hold dogs. You must be ready to adopt within 72 hours upon approval.
FULLY VETTED ADOPTION FEE is: $250
** PLEASE NOTE: Since we are a shelter, the majority of our dogs have not had the luxury of a foster home. As a result, what we post in reference to their behavior, temperament, likes/dislikes etc is only what we witness here and not in a home atmosphere. ALSO, the breed mix posted is simply a GUESS on our part, we DO NOT do DNA testing.
Hi, my name is JOEY. I am somewhere between 9-12 weeks old and currently weigh 10 lbs. My brothers Taz and Bonzer were rescued from a "not so clean" home and I cant tell you how happy we all are to be flea/tick free and thriving with full bellies (minus the worms ewww). The only thing that would make me happier is to be in my very own home. Even though I am the largest of the 3 of us, I tend to be the "calmest"...I mean as calm as a puppy is able lol. I (along with my brothers) are part of a working breed. So, if you know nothing about that breed please do not apply or make certain you read up on our specific needs/traits as we are not for everyone. We love action and are very, very smart and we shine when we have a job to do. I am typical puppy with no manners, no training, no idea what I am supposed to do. Therefore, please, unless you are able to demonstrate the time and ability to train a puppy, do not apply. If you do not have the time to let me out every 3 hours for the next month, please take a look at some of the older puppies and/or adults or even seniors this rescue has. The GREAT NEWS is that puppyhood is only temporary and with TRAINING and EXERCISE and STRUCTURE, puppies like me can quickly learn to be good adult dogs that can share your life! The BAD NEWS is that WITHOUT TRAINING, STRUCTURE, AND EXERCISE the only thing that will happen is that I will become OLDER and STILL untrained. Sadly, most people think that just age brings about better behavior. That is complete INCORRECT. Training, exercise, and structure, and of course prevention from doing "bad" things brings about appropriate behavior. SO, IF you had the patience to read all of this you may be just the home I am looking for. One thing is for sure is that I am a blank slate and you have the opportunity to raise me the way you want to live with you forever! I am looking forward to that because to me right now LIFE is an ADVENTURE and what adventure is completely without a best friend?????
