My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bodee!

Hello new friends, my name is Bodee! I'm about 7 years old and just 12 pounds. The perfect little lap dog, and boy do I love laps! I had the same owner my whole life, but was surrendered due to some medical issues. They aren't the only one with medical needs. You see, I'm diabetic, but please don't let that scare you, because it doesn't scare me. Really, that just means I eat every 12 hours, and get a teeny tiny, little shot twice a day. No big deal! Oh! I was also just in the hospital for pancreatitis, so now I have special food to eat. I get along with other low key, mellow dogs, and ignore the cats in my foster home, unless they hiss at me, then I'll grumble back at them, but I never chase them or try to bite them. I also love the teenagers here! I even get to sleep with my human foster sister! Foster mom says that really small humans would probably make me too nervous though. I've had no potty issues once I settled into my foster home, but I would do best with a fenced in yard, as I was never leash trained, so I just go out to potty and sniff around and then come back in.

I'd love if my new family is home a bit more often than not. I don't really enjoy being left alone, and will let everyone know when you leave, so I wouldn't do well in an apartment building. I just love my people so much, and want to be around them as much as possible! Is it so bad that I want to show my humans the love I have to give them? I promise not to get under your feet, but I will definitely lay by them if you are busy and I can't be in your lap. Do you work from home? Is your heart saying it has a little more room to love a dog? Does your heart need a dog to love you back? I'm the right guy for you!

Disclaimer: It is VERY difficult even for a veterinarian to tell the exact age of a dog over two years old. From one vet to another, we can get different age estimates on the same dog and they can vary by several years. We are only making an educated guess based on a few factors like teeth, fur color, and overall body condition, but for dogs who have not been given adequate vet care and food, it can be even more difficult. Every dog is an individual, and we do our very best to age appropriately but make no guarantees as to the age of any dog in our program.
