My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rupert aka: “Ru” is a feisty little love bug with a giant personality. This male Maltese weighs approx. 10 lbs. and is around 13 years old but you would never know by his energy. Ru had severe glaucoma in his left eye, so the rescue had that eye removed. He has since healed wonderfully from that surgery. He also has a small cataract in his right eye but it does not affect his vision. He has no teeth and eats only soft food and any of your food if you don’t watch out! His foster mom adds milk thistle powder to his food to help with his elevated liver levels. He gets along just fine with other small dogs and cats. He does tend to bark and nip at and feel intimidated by bigger dogs, so if his adoptive home has dogs, they must be on the smaller size. He loves belly rubs and loves to be with his humans and follows his foster mom from room to room. He sleeps very well at the end of the bed at night and is housebroken. He does tend to jump at loud noises such as a door slamming. Ru would either need a fenced yard or walked on a harness/leash as he will try to take an adventure if left to his own free will. He ADORES car rides and would love to be taken out often to visit cool places. He has a very funny tic in that when he gets excited he shakes his head side to side and flicks out his tongue and “talks.” This little guy is quite the character and is so good and deserving of a loving forever home. Due to his senior status, we are adopting Rupert to an adult-only home.
