PURRSONALITY: Sophie is an incredibly sweet and loving cat. She is a bit shy and slow to warm up but has really blossomed into a friendly kitty who doesn’t hide when other people are around. Sophie is not a fan of being brushed or picked up but will climb onto your lap or chest for pets and is happy to be held that way if she initiates. She loves to play and her favorite position is showing you her belly and just being goofy rolling around. She has an adorable squeaky meow and likes to talk. Her zoomies are hilarious to watch, she can be a fluffy ball of pure energy. She wants to be around her people and will sleep at the foot of the bed all night. She prefers toys over treats so playtime is the way to her heart.
RESCUE STORY: Sophie and her siblings were rescued out of a backyard shed in Commerce in July of 2020. Sophie was adopted by an elderly couple who loved her dearly. Sadly, after one year together, Sophie’s daddy had serious health issues and his doctor suggested a home free of pets would help improve his breathing. With a heavy heart, they said goodbye to their beloved Sophie. She has spent time in a foster home since then and is ready to find her forever family.

IDEAL FAMILY: Sophie’s ideal family is one in which people are home most of the time. Retirees or someone who works from home would ensure that Sophie has plenty of company. She also prefers a calm and quiet home and to be the ONLY pet in the family.

Sophie is spayed, microchipped, and tested negative for both FIV and FeLV. Fecal tests returned negative for parasites.
