My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Welcome Athena to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 12-month-old Great Pyrenees. She and 2 others were found roaming the streets. One was hit by a car and the 2 are now with CCPAL Rescue. The Good Samaritan that brought them saw it all and has kept them till CCPAL could take them. She mentioned that she thought they were rejected by a breeder or maybe he didn’t want to do it anymore. When we took in Athena we didn’t know she was pregnant. We found out when we took her to be spayed so we allowed her to have the puppies. All the puppies have been adopted and now it is time for this gentle sweetheart to find her forever home. We are not sure why they were loose but Athena is a wonderful dog. She doesn’t jump up and he is great with other dogs. She doesn’t know anything about leash walking but we will be working with her on leash skills. He is about 65 pounds and looks to be a good weight. This breed of dog is a Guardian dog and are known for their ability to protect a flock of animals from harm. She will need a fenced yard as this breed will roam without a fence. She has a wonderful long coat and will be great in the more northern and colder climates. We think he is a pure-bred GP pup but we are not breeders and he has not papers. We will say she is a mix. She would be great with another dog or as an only and fine with children. 8 or older are ideal. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states
