Rocky! DOB: 5/17/2016 Weight: 66lbs
Rocky! This hunky guy is looking for another shot at a forever home too! He’s currently stuck in our overcrowded kennels. He’s a stalky, brindle and white pit bull terrier mix. He is completely house trained but will mark when he first arrives at a new place. Lots of dogs tend to do that. He’s been fine in his crate/kennel. He does excellent with other dogs! Previously lived with a 3 year old kid and did fine with him. Rocky does well for baths and car rides. Knows how to sit and takes treats nicely. No food or toy aggression. Rocky was adopted for several months but was returned due to him protecting what he believed to be his. He’s NOT a fan of strangers walking in or around the house or his people. He’s perfectly fine with HIS people, it’s new guests he doesn’t like. His adopter had muzzled him when friends came over and he did decent. Most of the time they put him up in a room. Rocky needs a proper introduction with new people outside of the house before allowing that person inside. His home was also surrounded by a solid wooden fence. A lady walked into the yard and Rocky had went after her.
Rocky‘s ideal home would be one with a doggie playmate and someone who is very dog savy with larger breeds. With the right work he’d make a great guard dog and protector of the home. He was very loving towards the people that adopted him and he’s had no problems meeting people here at the shelter. It’s just once he gets into a home, he will become protective of the area and his people.
His adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you’ll be refunded $100 of your fee. If interested in adopting him please fill out an application on our NEW website. https://www.newliferescues.org . If you have issues, send us a message through our Facebook. Came to shelter 7/2021 and was adopted for a time. Returned to shelter 3/2022.
