Dozer is a 7 year old Pitbull/Boxer who weighs in at about 77lbs. Dozer can be shy to meet new people but is very friendly and affectionate once he warms up. He also has a very goofy personality and is sure to make you laugh. Dozer can be picky when it comes to other dogs so a slow introduction would be beneficial if he were to live in a home with other pets. Due to Dozer`s shy and timid nature if he were to live in a home with children they would have to be 10-13 and up.
If Dozer sounds like your forever friend give us a call at 330-487-0333 ext 803 to learn more about him , or stop by the facility at 752 Portage Trail, ext W, 44313.

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.
We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.
Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter
Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
