My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Honey (aka Honey Bear, Honey Bell), is the sweetest girl. She so cutely wags her tail when she is being pet. We think Honey could be possibly a mixture of schnauzer and cocker spaniel, we are estimating her age to be around 12-13 years, and she weighs 18 lbs. You would think she is younger though, especially when you see her get the zoomies! Honey loves to be loved on, and to be held. She loves to have her beautiful, soft gray and black fur brushed. She is a very low shedder and will need regular grooming. Honey is good with dogs and all people, although she prefers calmer dogs. She was intriqued at first with the resident cat in her foster home but now they are friends. She is house trained and sleeps well through the night with her foster mom and dad and other fur siblings. She is not a big barker, and only barks (and will actually howl!) occasionally when the other dogs bark. She is often playful and hops and runs which is so cute! She also enjoys playing with soft toys, throwing them up in the air. She also loves looking for and staring down lizards, with tail-a-waggin'. Honey has minor cataracts and some hearing loss, but she can see everything that goes on and hears loud noises. She does have a “cherry eye” but it doesn’t give her any discomfort and she has an inexpensive solution to wipe her eyes a couple times a week. Like most seniors, Honey has arthritis in her spine and some hip dysplasia and takes a daily hip & joint supplement for that, but neither issue seems to slow her down as you can see in her video. She trots with the best of them when she gets the urge! Honey just needs someone who will love her the rest of her days. She would love to have a fenced-in yard to sniff around and sun in, and she needs a home without stairs in the home or to get outside. She prefers a home where her people are with her most of the time. We will adopt her to an all-adult home only. If you live in the Central Florida (Orlando) area and believe you can provide the best forever home for Honey, please complete an application and tell us more about you.
