Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Verdell, the pocket heeler (heeler/chihuahua). He’s an 8-year-old compact bundle of pure love. Surrendered to the Valencia County shelter, we snatched him up quick. The shelter is no place for senior sweeties like Verdell. Despite a new and completely unknown environment, Verdell transitioned easily to our home. He was quickly at ease with our two dogs, a yard full of chickens, teenage son, and us. Verdell might be one of the most affectionate dogs we’ve ever fostered. His position of choice is to be snuggled and wedged in next to you on the bed or couch, preferably under a blanket where he can burrow. He loves to follow you around the yard while you water the garden. Great on a leash and loves to go for walks. He’s silly and playful, smart and a quick learner. Verdell is potty trained and uses the dog door. This is a true companion dog who would be ideal for retired folks or a family with kids. The only situation that would not be good for Verdell is a home where no one is around for long periods of time. He just wants to be at your side and be loved. Verdell is one special fellow and we know the perfect home is waiting for him!
