My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Balto is a brave and courageous 2-year-old male Akita mix who was found with his mate and their 9 puppies. According to locals, this pair was seen multiple times roaming at large and living off the land in the middle of dangerous fires prior to the birth. Momma dog successfully delivered her puppies and the family survived for 3 weeks before we received them.

This sweet boy loves people and has got along great with the other dogs that he has met. He walks well on a leash, is learning tricks (like sit and paw), and overall is very smart and sweet.

Today (5/30/2022) he received his first bath and he thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. He is now soft and beautiful, and ready for his new home.

His adoption fee of $120 will include the neuter, microchip, heartworm & tick borne panel, deworming, and all vaccines (Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella).

If you are interested in learning more about Balto, please submit an application found here: https://www.sandovalcountynm.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/FosterAdoptApplication.pdf and send that to sandovalpets@sandovalcountynm.gov or call 505-867-7642 and leave a message for any questions.

We require meet & greets for all pets in the household, and offer trial adoptions to ensure it is a perfect match.
