My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi im Meka a 1.5 year old Australian Shepherd female. I am a sweet gentle girl but have had a rough start to life. I was found running in horse country in rural Southern California. I was seen running with my sister and two Great Pyrenees.

Fast forward to now, I've been rescued and with my foster dad having tons of fun playing with my foster brothers and sisters! I LOVE being around playful dogs that are friendly. They make me feel comfortable and much more confident.

I'm not outgoing with new people! I'm very shy and standoffish but do warm up in time. The people I know, I can’t get enough of!! I love to cuddle and I'm very Velcro with my lucky humans.

Meka needs a home that is patient, has another friendly confident dog and has space to run. She is amazing in the home..like wow..she gets an A+ but when out in public, she can shut down and panic. She has a feral side to her and it will be up to her adopter to manage this. The adopter needs to be dog savvy..this dog shouldn’t be your first rodeo when it comes to dog ownership.

We would love to see Meka go to a home that is quiet, experienced with the breed, and has a big yard with another dog. No apartments (no exceptions). Must have breed experience! Meka is spayed, UTD and Microchipped.
