Hello, handsome! This big boy came to us as a stray and is approximately 2 years old. He has so much love to give, it’s ridiculous! Why he was abandoned is anyone’s guess, but we’re happy to help him find his forever home.
Always ready with a smile (and a body hug if you’re not careful), Starsky is a lover of all humans he meets. He is also wonderful with large breed dogs but has not been tested with small breeds. He is not good with cats and cannot go into a home with indoor or outdoor felines.
Given his mixed breed, Starsky both bonds quickly (the Shepherd in him) and is an escape artist (the Husky). Leaving him unattended in a yard is not advisable, as he will get bored and climb or dig his way out of it. This boy wants to be a part of the family, not left alone. With loads of attention and exercise, he won’t get bored.
Starsky travels very well in the car - always ready for an adventure! He is good on leash but requires reminders against his tugging tendencies. He loves belly rubs and would be a lap dog if you let him. He is crate trained and is not an incessant barker.
If interested in adopting Starsky, please request an application. Filling out an application does not guarantee an adoption but is the first step in the forever home placement.
Starsky is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and on regular flea & heartworm prevention.
An adoption fee applies to all of our rescues so that we can continue to help others in need.

More about this rescue
NOTE: If you have found or trapped cats, or need to relinquish your own, please contact stationary shelters in your area. We do not handle public intakes.
The American Street Cat, Inc's primary focus is on TNR (trap-neuter-return), but the kittens and friendlies found during the rescue effort cannot be ignored. They are brought indoors, well-cared for in a non-shelter environment, and promoted for adoption upon a clean bill of health.
We are a small, volunteer-based, non-profit organization, with no paid officers or staff. Any donations of time and/or money will be greatly appreciated.
We are committed to minimizing the pet overpopulation problem, thereby minimizing the homelessness of beautiful adoptables such as ours.
