My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buttons is ready for adoption! After losing his owner suddenly, this sweet boy was very sad and scared. But after a few days in a foster home, he realized he was safe and loved and started showing love in return. Now, Buttons is the sweetest and most affectionate cat you'll ever meet. His signature move is purring while rubbing his face hard against absolutely anything and everything you're touching. Drinking a glass of water? It's splash time! Working on an open laptop? Let's close that thing and take a break! Amazingly, despite being demanding when it comes to pets, Buttons is very respectful of his humans' personal space, preferring to nap against (but not on) their lap and to sleep at the foot of the bed (close but not smothering). He just wants to be near you... and brushed, and petted, and adored like he deserves to be.

Buttons is active, energetic, and playful. He loves playing with humans (wand toys are a lot of fun) but also enjoys playing solo, batting his toys around and chasing them all over the house. He is food-motivated, which should make him easy to train if his new family wanted to. He has an adorable voice and gets very excited at breakfast and dinner time! Buttons lived with other cats before, so he would probably be happy living with other cats again, but he could also thrive as a solo pet.

Buttons is about 4-5 years old, neutered, microchipped, fully up to date on vaccines, and FeLV/FIV negative. He has gingivitis, which is common in cats but very treatable, and he will have a dental cleaning in early June. (Adopters do NOT have to pay for this procedure, but anyone is welcome to contribute to our fundraiser!)
