My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Charlene - Lab/Shepherd mix - Female - 1.5 Yrs old - www.twyla.org

If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org

Charlene is an approximately 1.5 year old Labrador, maybe Shepherd mix who is pretty confident. She was found abandoned with her sister Vera, who is a little more reserved. Charlene has quite a lot of energy but calms down quickly in quiet environments. She has a gorgeous longer coat that requires regular brushing, she likes to brushed and pet but has not learned how to stand still for it yet.
Charlene is learning impulse control and basic manners but requires a good amount of patience as she is energetic and easily distracted. She is doing well in her house training, is learning how to politely walk on leash and greet other dogs nicer than her impulse compels her to do.

Charlene is looking for an active home with some larger dog experience as she still needs guidance with her decision making, she is funny and cute, loves to snuggle but has a short attention span, typical for a dog her age. She has had limited exposure to children, we think she would likely knock a small child over with her exuberance, so older kids if any.
She may be ok with another dog in the house, she likes to take the lead so the other dog would need to be ok with that. Involving her with daily activities and suppling her with plenty of exercise, attention and affection will likely quickly make her the envy of the neighborhood

***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***
