Here's what the humans have to say about me:
PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE CLINIC DIRECTLY! Most of our staff are not up to date on the kitten's information. Please send an email through here, or to AdoptTheKitties@yahoo.com directly! Please allow 1-3 days before expecting an answer.
Astrid will be coming up for adoption soon! She just needs to get bigger and healthier before she is ready for her forever home. We are accepting potential interested parties in the meantime.
Astrid was born roughly April 18th, 2022. She was found abandoned with her siblings in Stafford, Va, and taken in by a good samaritan. When they reached 4 weeks old, they were given to MapleShade to get the proper socialization and appropriate vaccines. Because they are so young, their personalities are just starting to come out. Kittens will not be adopted out until they are closer to 10 weeks old, and we are expecting a good amount of interest in them before they are adopted. Adoptions will be given out based on how they would fit in the family, and not first come first serve!
Update 6/9/22: Despite being exposed to the same things as her siblings, Astrid is still a very cautious kitten. She much prefers to sit back and wait opposed to charging ahead at weird new things. The kittens have been responding well to their meds and are now on the track to being healthy again!
Update 6/5/22:
The kittens have been battling coccidia this week! This can be normal for younger kittens in our area. They are responding well to meds and have been slowly recovering, though this takes a few weeks. All kittens have been slowly gaining weight despite their illness and have been playing well.
So far, Astrid is a cautious kitten. She prefers to sit back and watch compared to her brothers who throw themselves at you for attention, but isn't afraid of dogs, other cats, or humans at all.
