My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Greetings Future Furever Family!!

Sumo here to introduce myself to you. DLRR rescued me from the county pound and I went immediately into foster care with my rescuer. I am called Sumo, but I'm not quite sure that is really my name-might you have a better one?? I don't know how to wrestle! (Foster Mom calls me Bubby!!)

I am a beautiful, sweet, gentle 2 year old black neutered boy weighing at about 87 lbs. I am a very quiet boy (no barking!) that likes to chill inside and out-I really love it outside on the lawn. Foster Mom likes how I sleep quietly through the night and how I relax during the day whether Foster Mom
is here or not. When she is home, I love to get attention and pets from her--I'm really quite a lover (another reason why the name Sumo doesn't fit me LOL). I'm pretty much a turn-key dog with no flaming bad habits--I am housebroken, doggy door trained, know the command “sit” and have excellent house manners. I am GREAT on the leash during walks, except when I roll in the grass LOL. Ahhh- it feels so good! I do need a strong, confident leader when passing other dogs. I went to doggie day camp a few times --boy was that fun! They said I did well with the big dogs there, but small dog and cats are probably not a good fit in my new home. Kids are an unknown because I haven't met any yet. But given my "Gentle Giant" nickname, I'd probably be good with them. Because I'm still young, I have great potential for learning a lot of things like commands and tricks.
