My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lovely, loving Lola!

Hey friends! My name is Lola, and I am a sweet 13 year old, female Terrier mix, weighing about 44 lbs. I was rescued from the Long Beach shelter by TAP and since then, I have been a good girl at my foster home. I have been spayed too! I have mastered bathroom and leash training and ready to roll! My skin allergies are managed with regular Cytopoint injections every 6-8 weeks, price varies by vet. Apoquel costs $85.00 for a months supply, depending on where purchased and market value. Eating Royal Canin Selected Protein PR.

I am a very friendly, happy, sweet, and loving dog. I am happy to make everyone happy and listen well. I am quite treat motivated so it's easier to train me. I rarely bark if ever, am fairly independent but do enjoy cuddles and pets. Car rides are really fun and I love kids! I am a great companion dog and behave well around older people since I am not into jumping. I am a bit dog reactive, so a home without other dogs would be ideal. I haven't met kitties yet.

I am a truly loving dog and eager to provide great companionship. I dont need a whole lot of training or attention and will be happy by just hanging around. I am ideal for someone who may not have a lot of time on their hands but is still seeking the love and protection from a sweet dog. I do prefer to be the only dog.

"The Animal Pad recognizes that taking in a new dog can pose a challenge to the entire family. Lola's adoption package includes a FREE four-week scholarship with our partner Goodpup (https://goodpup.com/). Goodpup offers virtual, individualized training to ensure you, your dog, and your family have the skills needed to thrive together. GoodPup Scholarships include:

  • 4+ weeks of positive reinforcement training

  • 24/7 chat for questions and support

  • Access to a behavior team to assist in advanced cases"

If you think we are a pawfect match, come and say hi!  My adoption fee is $100 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
