Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hey folks, have you been looking for a friendly, mellow dude to join your pack? The name's Haesol and I'm eagerly waiting to get word I've been adopted...
Here's some information about me:
My physical info:
breed: jindo mix
age: 5 years
gender: male
weight: 57 lbs/ 26 kgs
height: 21"/53cm
My Rescue Story:
In May 2020 I was seen roaming around a buddhist temple and reported to the animal control people. I was picked up and taken to the nearest city pound. Recently I was lucky enough to be transferred into the care of Welcome Dog Korea and now I have the chance to be adopted overseas. (Jindo mix dogs are rarely adopted domestically.)
My Temperament:
What can I say, you hoomans are adorable! I love meeting people and will give you a good ol' tail wag in greeting. Give me a chin scratch and a few kind words and I'm all yours! If you offer me a treat, I'll take it gently from your hand and send grateful vibes your way.
I'm also friendly with other dogs and show polite respect to those that are on the cranky side (I won't name names, but Cranky Little Dog would be a good description!). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2Ih-4A6uRs&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JwJCOyMejcjwLHtepk5zE33&index=3
Mind you, if an alpha dog growls at me, I'm confident enough to growl back. Once I've made friends I enjoy playing and hanging out with my dog buds, though people time will always be my first choice.
My Energy Level:
You will rarely see me run, though I certainly enjoy going for walks and can be playful at times. I guess I have average energy, perhaps slightly on the lower side.
I get along with:
dogs: Yes
cats: My handlers think I could probably live with a cat, given proper introductions. You can see in my video that I was interested but gentle when introduced to a confident cat. That's not to say I wouldn't chase a fast moving cat if I saw one on the street though.
kids: though we don't have a video showing me with children, my gentle and friendly nature suggests I would be fine with children over 8.
Training:
leash skills: yep, I'm fairly good on the leash and quite comfortable around traffic and urban noises https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DL_pcyRiRZQ&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JwJCOyMejcjwLHtepk5zE33&index=6
housetraining: this isn't something I have had the opportunity to learn while on the streets and in the shelter but frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me figure it out quickly.
other: I am calm in the crate, don't suffer from separation anxiety, rarely bark and don't get carsick.
I love catching treats in the air! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-A40tskFGjI
Health Notes:
I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped
some of my teeth are a bit worn down
Adoption Fee:
* Haesol's adoption fee is $750 + tax.
* Haesol will arrive in Vancouver in late May or early June if he finds a foster home and we will find a volunteer who can drive or escort him to Calgary.
