Calling all chihuahua lovers!! If you LOVE these little guys and understand their quirks, keep reading!! If you’re not a chihuahua person, this pup is not for you.
10 year-old Dusty came to us from a shelter in North Carolina where he’d been surrendered by his owner. We couldn’t resist his tiny wolf face and so we scooped him up and brought him into our foster club!
It was clear when we met Dusty that he was incredibly stressed, and who could blame him?!?? He had just lost his home and found himself in a shelter, which is a very loud and scary place, especially for a little guy. Now that Dustin has fully decompressed in his foster home, he is happy, relaxed and quite loving.
.
Dustin is a simple guy and doesn’t require much other than to be around his person. He likes short walks but isn’t into marathons. He enjoys lounging in bed all day in his foster mom’s home office and he’ll occasionally get up to chew a bone or say hi to the cats. He wears a belly band because he can’t always be trusted to make good decisions but if taken out on a regular schedule, he does a great job of pottying outside. He’s in excellent health and his teeth look beautiful for a ten year old boy!!
As a senior chihuahua who’s pretty set in his routine, Dustin should not go to a family with young children as he would likely appreciate a fairly quiet retirement home. He is tolerant and quite aloof to other dogs but doesn’t appreciate one that invades his personal space bubble. He is good with cats who tolerate his slight interest in them.
Symbiotic Inc has a required minimum $360 adoption donation upon the completion of the adoption (it is tax deductible!)
All dog adoptions include a required, one hour virtual session with a professional trainer. Before the day of adoption, we will schedule a one hour "go home" session for you and your family with a professional trainer from Lucky Dogs Training, during which time they will discuss tips and tricks for bringing home a new dog and answer any questions you may have! This session is at no additional charge. www.LuckyDogstraining.net
