My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bruiser is being fostered in PA.

7/15/22: Why haven't you adopted me yet? I'm awesome and you don't know what you are missing out on!

I am a sweet Dachshund/Chihuahua double merle puppy. I was born on January 7, 2022 and am both blind (but can tell when a bright light is shined at me) and mostly deaf (but can hear very loud high pitched sounds - like my annoying foster sister!). I love to play with toys (the bigger the better) and other pups of all sizes. I can play for hours and have you laughing the whole time! I like to grab anything within my reach and hide it under the bed so you better put your shoes away! I really love to chew on bones so my foster mom tries to make sure that one is near me at all times! I will use wee pads if I have to go and you don't get me out there fast enough. I live with a bunch of other dogs that need wee pads so I am spoiled that way. I promise to do my best to tell you when I want to go out. I just recently learned that I can bark when I'm not in my crate and that means a person will take me out. I don't like being put in a crate, a small pen would be a better option of keeping me safe when nobody is home with me. I'm going to cry constantly when in a crate until I fall asleep. I will also scrape at my bed and the crate trying to escape. My foster mom tells me that I would not make a good apartment puppy for that reason.

I don't need a big yard but I do like being able to run around and explore. I have all my shots and next week my foster mom said that I'm getting snipped. I don't know what that means but I'm not sure if I will like it.

I think that I would do well with children of all ages but younger children should be supervised because little fingers and toes taste even better than bones!

My favorite thing to do is snuggle. I like to have my neck and my foster mom's neck touching. I just climb up on her shoulders or chest when she is sitting and nuzzle right up. I love sleeping in the big bed with her and all of my foster siblings too. The more the merrier but you had better make sure I have a blanket to burrow under! I also love to get and give kisses!

The only thing that I am missing is a forever home. If you adopt me you will never regret it! I'm cute, cuddly and I can make every day better just by being with you!
