Jasper, Male, Akbash, 7 years old, 130 lbs.


Don’t let Jasper’s size and fur fool you. He is easier to manage and lower maintenance than his smaller counterparts, and quieter too. Jasper walks well on leash and is well mannered. His grooming needs are minimal, just an occasional brushing (which he loves) and nail trim (which he tolerates).

His calm independent, yet affectionate and friendly disposition make him an ideal companion for almost anyone.

Jasper is a good natured gentle boy who loves people, big and small. He gets on fine with cats and most other dogs.

When Jasper came to us he weighed a whopping 149 lbs, had a pronounced limp and could only walk for short spells. X-rays determined that Jasper’s front right leg had an old healed injury.

Carrying 30 + extra pounds and lack of exercise were the cause of his mobility issues.

After 3 months of dieting and exercise, Jasper’s mobility has improved dramatically. He still has pounds to shed but his limp has almost completely vanished and he moves with much more ease.

Happy Jasper loves going for walks and laying outside in all seasons. Jasper has no problem being left alone to watch over the homestead but also loves to go on outings with his people as well.

Jasper has been neutered, microchipped and his vaccinations are up to date. The adoption fee for Jasper is $400.00.
