This supports all rescue dogs for vetting, foods and whatever they need.
We are all volunteers.
MEET COOKY She is a mixed breed. We have guessed that she is a terrier, sheepdog, Tibetan terrier, bearded collie, and ??? but only a DNA test will tell you. We do know that she is only 1.6 years old and about 45-60. She is now able to walk niely on the leash and our Arkansas foster, Sherri has been successfully teaching her sit, down, wait for food and good inside house manners. She has been staying insdie with the other big dogs Sherri has not seen any bad behaviors like counter serving or destruction.. As usual we insist youu enroll in a REAL TRAINING CLASS for our bigger dogs, not a Petsmart class, if you intend to put in an application.
We want to know that she will live her BEST LIFE. This breed not sit around the house. You must live an active lifestyle and realize she is a work in progress. She was a family dog with a known history . We do think she was well cared for by her previous family.
Cooky is 1.6 years old and was given up because of a move. She is sweet and loving. She gets along with other dogs and cats. Cooky been very patient during a tough grooming as Sherri was trying to untangle some of the worse mats. In general , Cooky seems to be mild mannered but slow to engage but will first watch you, as is the terrier personality. Once she is comfortable , she will be all yours with all the love you can handle. A real gem.
THIS BREED REQUIRES CONSTANT GROOMING! At the moment she seems to be little to non shed but does loose hair like we do.If she has Great Pyr in her, she will "blow her hair" once a year, but again, we do not know this.
She is fully vetted and will be microchipped . She will be in Rhode Island on May 27 So serious people only should apply. SO DO YOUR RESEARCH AND FILE YOUR APPLICATION COMPLETELY TELLING UP WHY YOU ARE THE BEST HOME FOR OUR SPECIAL GIRL , COOKY ( PRONOUCED COOKIE)
OUR PROCEDURE: We will choose the dog's possible family as soon as we see a match. We will phone you and further discuss . (Others, we do NOT NOTIFY, BUT WE DO POST PENDING.) .
Once we set up our meeting we will take a $100. deposit 72 hours prior to meeting that is refundable if it is not the right dog upon meeting the dog.. IF you do NOT show up it is not refundable. Please realize, it is our goal to get the dogs into the right homes as soon as possible and no shows are not good for the dogs and other serious dog families.
WE WILL BE UPDATING THIS INFORMATION AS WE JUST RESCUED HER. THIS IS ALL OUR FIRST IMPRESSIONS AND THEY ARE WONDERFUL. WEIGHT WILL BE UPDATED TO AS WELL AS A SHAVE DOWN PICTURE
