Here's what the humans have to say about me:
🐾ADOPTION PENDING🐾Tucker the Pup Star!
Can you see Tucker?
Stars can sometimes be hard to see. Tucker is such a star. He's a big personality of a pup who needs to be seen.
There are a couple of things to consider right off the bat about this tri color approximately 2 year old, 45 pound, uber-smart, happy-hearted, adorably oblivious, high-spirited, inquisitive, athletic Border Collie boy.
Tucker was failed by his former family; everyone loves the "idea" of a Border Collie. Not everyone can meet their needs and understand their temperament. Tucker got a raw deal the first time around: he wasnt given socialization opportunities, or mentally and physically engaged. The result is a fella who doesn't do well interpeting canine communication or living with other four leggeds. Therefore, Tucker's Happily Ever will not have any other pets, he will be the Star of Heart and Home. This time it will be the right Forever. It's his time to shine!
Tucker has done great in Foster. This lovely, brainy, inquisitive boy is ready to be doted on by an avid, confident, experienced Border Collie devotee.
If you are can see yourself as that adopter, we invite you to read further.
Tucker is intelligent, inquisitive, agile, energetic and affectionate. He LOVES long treks. Tucker will trot happily alongside his walking partner with his Gentle Leader head collar on. As a curious collie he does enjoy having some leisurely scent and sniff moments on walks too. Tucker is eager to please and looks to his partner for direction.
Tucker has been known to scale a fence to see what sort of grass is on the other side, so he'd love a home with a higher fence. An experienced owner who is resolute in never leaving their dog alone outside may not need a fenced yard.
Since Tucker has scrapped with other pooches, dog parks and pup playdates are definitely not for him-- not even a little bit.
Tucker is a "melt your heart" dog. He'll be as content with his Person as he is with himself. This Pup Star is a bit of a canine "celebutant" in his own mind. He also has a treat tooth and doesn't mind being coaxed with a healthy tidbit or two.
Tucker does well in his crate. He is good rider-- just sits tethered gazing out the window, or lies down reflecting on the awesome life he has ahead.
Tucker is the dog to come home to. He is all sweet center for his Person. He'd be a great sidekick for Someone who is active and wants a "you and me buddy" life or an individualist seeking a solo act dog with walking, talking, charming, loving Personality.
Tucker has all the personality. A herding breed experienced home, with adults only or dog savvy kids 10 and up, no other dogs or cats to share the spotlight with is in his Forever. Multiresidential buildings (such as apartments) are not a good fit for this boy. Multiresidential buildings (such as apartments) are not a good fit for this girl. The adopter commits to slow and monitored introductions with new people, especially children, places and other dogs, cats, and animals. The adopter must also give their new dog time to decompress and grow familiar with a new environment and routine. The adopter agrees to invest time in understanding their dog and building a bond of trust.
Tucker saunters over to say, "Wanna share life's stage with me? It'll be n' you, kid."
