Disney is a young lemon American Field-bred English Pointer. She was in an over-crowded shelter in Southern Illinois and her life was in danger when we pulled her to safety. She has all the personality traits of these special little dogs-- she is silly, zany and playful. She'd probably been kept outside her whole life, but is adjusting to indoor living in her foster home in St. Louis.
Disney would benefit from an adopter that has other playful dogs and a fenced in yard is mandatory to keep her safe and able to run around and exercise. She loves most toys- especially plushy toys. I am sure she would also love cuddles on the couch after a fun day of running around outside. These dogs are ideal for dog park romps and also enjoy play with other dogs at day care.
Field bred Pointers do run much bigger than GSP's, Weim's and Vizsla's but because we have no idea if she was ever exposed to birds or gunfire, we want to put her in a pet home only.
