My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**I am located in Georgia, but I can be transported north to you!**

Name: Otto

Breed: American Staffordshire/Boxer mix

Sex/Age/Weight: Male/4yrs old/60lbs

Vetting: Otto is fully vetted, neutered and heartworm negative, including a microchip.

House trained/Crate Trained: Still working on house training. Otto is very good in a crate.

Dogs/Cats/Children: Otto is good with other dogs. Very curious around cats and chickens but doesn’t seem to want to hurt them. He’s only been around older children but loved them.

Energy Level: Otto is a medium energy dog, loves to play and he gives hugs.

Before FAR/My History: I was found as a stray in Baldwin County, and I am thought to be the father of the Super K's litter.

Training Status/Commands I know: I know my name and respond and come when called.

Working on: Jumping on people, house breaking and leash manners

Things I like: Playing with tennis and any other sort of balls! LOVES playing with other dogs. He’s also VERY food motivated and loves treats.

Things I don’t like: He seems to not have anything he doesn't like..

Things that make my humans happy: Snuggles! He seems to just love and want to be around people all the time!

Ideal Family/Home: Otto is a medium energetic and playful boy so he would do great with an active family with a fenced yard who understands this and is willing to work with him on his leash manners and give him the time he needs to run and play. A home with other dogs would be ideal because he absolutely LOVES playing with other dogs.

If you are interested in giving Otto a forever home, please visit the link below to fill out an application! http://fureverafterrescue.org/adoption-application.html It is best to submit an application through a computer. We have experienced some problems when applications have been submitted using a mobile device. *When you submit the application, you are not obligated to adopt however it does reserve for you the opportunity to adopt that particular animal. We review them on a first come first served basis. If your application is approved, we will contact you and allow you the opportunity to adopt. If you choose not to adopt, we will contact the next approved applicant. If you have any questions or difficulties, please contact us and we will be glad to help!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the potential adopter filling out an adoption application. In the application, you can specify a particular dog in which you are interested, or let us know what type of pet in which you are looking, so we can find the perfect animal to fit your family and your needs. Once the application is received, a board member will review the application, and make contact with the potential adopter within 48 hours. This initial contact may include further questions/more information, or may include scheduling a meet and greet for you to meet the animal in which you are interested! Once the application is approved or the meet and greet goes well, then the adoption can be finalized. To finalize the adoption, an adoption agreement must be completed, the adoption fee paid (we accept cash, paypal, or credit/debit card), and then the potential adopter can take their new family member home with them or schedule pick up of their furry family member! The adoption fee varies based on the animal. Some of our animals have the fees listed in their individual post but if you do not see one then please feel free to contact us and we would be happy to let you know the cost to adopt a particular pet. If you are interested in any of our animals, please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have!!

Go meet their pets

We hold adoption events some Saturdays at various locations around middle GA from 11 am-3 pm. Check our Facebook page for updates on Events! We are also able to arrange meet and greets for local adopters!

More about this rescue

Furever After Rescue, a 501(c)(3) organization, is a no-kill, foster-based rescue devoted to finding homes for animals needing a loving home. Most of our animals come from local, high-kill shelters with some occasionally coming from bad situations and owner surrender. Our animals are immediately placed in foster homes where they learn love and are taught how to live in a home environment. All of our animals are up-to-date on their age-appropriate vetting needs and are tested for personality traits as best as possible. We have many wonderful pets looking for forever homes!

We are currently based out of Macon, GA but partner with a quality private transport group that helps us get our furbabies to homes up and down the east coast so don't let distance deter you from contacting us about one of our furry friends!
