One of our adopters adopted Ginger from a shelter in Los Angeles County as a companion for the boy she adopted from us. Unfortunately, Ginger did not care for the other dog, so we took her into our rescue. She is an absolute love with every person she meets -- quiet, easygoing, friendly, and eager to please and make friends. She loves rolling over for belly rubs.

We don't know if it's just the other dog she didn't like or if she dislikes all dogs, but we do know she would do just fine as the only dog. She recently had entropion surgery to fix in-turned lower eyelids that were rubbing on her eyes, and now she is all better (though the fur around her eyes will take a few weeks to grow back).

Unlike many chows, Ginger isn't very suspicious of people she doesn't know. She would make a great addition to a family with experience with dogs and, even better, experience with chows. She ideally needs a home with a fenced yard.
