Billy came to the Mower County Humane Society via the Austin City Pound in March, 2022 along with his sibling, Lynn. Billy was originally live trapped at an Austin business because he is a feral cat. We are working with him, and he is slowly getting used to people. He does like to play with a string or a super ball! Billy has tested neg for feline leukemia/FIV, is now neutered and is current on shots. He is about a year old. We are looking for a responsible home for Billy and Lynn. It can be an outdoor setting but they would require shelter and food, etc. Adoption fee is $80. A pet carrier is required and you must be 21 to adopt from MCHS. For dogs, there is an application form that needs to be completed a few days ahead of time, before we are able to release an animal. We review applications to make sure there is a compatible fit between adoptive home and the characteristics of the animal. Adoption fees for dogs range from $95 to $150

Regular animal viewing hours are at the Shelter on Tuesdays from 4:30PM to 6PM, and Sundays from 2PM to 4PM. Other days/times can be arranaged by appointment.

The Mower County Humane Society is run entirely volunteers. The group strives to take in homeless and stray dogs and cats and place them into responsible, lifelong homes.
NOTE: The Shelter address does not register correctly on Google maps. Our Shelter is east of the Charter cable office in Austin MN. This is off of Hwy 218 south - our shelter is east of the highway just off the eastern tip of Oakland Avenue. The official address is 101 22nd Street SE
