***ADOPTION PENDING***Ivy is a precious pumpkin learning to be a dog for the first time in her short life. She came to DREAM and truth be told it was not the best situation she came from. She and 9 other dogs on property lived in a shed, and largely fended for themselves. After the owner was evicted for drug and alcohol use, the local AC moved in to seize. We took four of them, and the larger dogs were handled by another group.
Ivy is only a year old and is a black and tan dachshund with the softest ears and the sweetest eyes. With an extremely boopable nose, you'll need to set your alarm earlier in the morning so you can get up and get your boops in before you start the day. Ivy is a tad shy, as she is learning the ropes of being a regular dog. She loves a warm bed, she loves her regular meals and she appreciates being part of a family where she is valued. Ivy is being fostered with her sister, Kinzzy, though they are not bonded. She'd do well with another dog to keep her company and perhaps even learn from.

our online adoption application. Ivy's adoption fee is $600. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Ivy will go to her new home microchipped, spayed, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed. Almost every dog's veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.
**Ivy is a Legacy Dog. Legacy Dogs are highly adaptable dogs that can assist other dogs in our rescue with their vetting bills. Legacy dogs have a much higher desirability quotient. They're young, healthy and usually purebreds. These dogs leave a financial legacy for those animals who need extra help – whether they need extensive medical care or just a little more time to find a loving home.
DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if youâre in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - weâll expect you to do your part. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
