Pinocchio is a big, handsome pig who is in need of a forever home!
He was purchased as a baby from a breeder by a family that loved him. They kept him in the home and reported that he did well indoors until he became so large they had to move him to a barn on the property. His owner sadly became so ill she could no longer care for him so we stepped in to make sure he would be safe.
Pinocchio is 200 lbs at a healthy weight and is very tall. We suspect he may be a pot belly crossed with a much larger pig breed. He has been fully vetted and is ready to be adopted!
While he's been with us, he's also bonded pretty closely to one of our other pigs, Simba, and we are hoping this duo can be adopted together!
He can be a little moody while he gets to know people, but once he trusts you, he'll walk right over and demand belly rubs! He also loves to have full blown conversations with his people and will grumble the whole time he's being put to bed. He has many opinions and wants you to know about every single one of them!
We think he would do well being adopted as either an indoor or an outdoor pig, although he will likely need a refresher on his housebreaking since he has not lived indoors in many years.
If you think you are the perfect home for him, apply to adopt him at waywardranch.org!
We don't have a set adoption fee for Pinochs, but do ask that a $250 donation be made at the time of his adoption.

More about this rescue
Our Mission: To provide a quality life to the animals that need it most.
Wayward Ranch Animal Sanctuary, Inc. is a 501c3, tax exempt non-profit organization and all donations to our sanctuary are tax deductible.
The Dream:
Wayward Ranch was founded by three friends who, after working for other rescues for a long time, realized there was something missing from the average rescue model. No animal is perfect, and in the typical shelter system any behavioral concerns an animal had coming in are just exacerbated the longer they are kenneled or caged waiting for a home.
Many local shelters have taken to shipping puppies up from the south because they are more “adoptable” than the shelter animals we have here. However, this just floods are market and takes homes and resources from our local animals who are suffering as a result.
We are committed to a different type of rescue experience. We are a unique combination of adoption and sanctuary facility, taking the pressure of euthanasia away from animals who may not be generically adoptable. We also help our animals thrive, rather than deteriorate, as they wait for forever homes using a combination of enrichment and training techniques.
