My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Breed: Siberian Husky / Adoption fee is $250 / Sex: Female / Actual DOB 2/1/22 / Adult Weight Estimate:  Approximatelyn55-656 pounds

Eva is a purebred husky puppy and will do best with someone experienced with the breed.  If this is your first husky, I encourage research and to be prepared to hire a dog trainer early on to prevent adult dog issues.

FOSTER TO ADOPT: This puppy has not been spayed and neutered and will need to return to our rescue at a date set by our rescue to be fixed through our vets. The Puppy will leave on a foster agreement and the adoption fee deposit will be paid in full to show your commitment to adopt once ready.

Hi my name is Eva, can you believe I was rescued from the pound!!! But seriously that is what happen to me. Someone purchased me from a irresponsible breeder and I was purchased by a family that knew nothing about my breed. Anyway after I spent 3 days screaming my head off anytime they left it quickly become a issue at the apartments my new humans lived in. Then boom, here I am at a shelter just 3 days after leaving my mom and siblings, then off to a overnight foster then into the rescue. All of this was stressful for me but I am adjusting in my new foster home with other animals to meet and play with. My foster says I have great potential to become everything a naughty husky becomes, so she claims this crate training, this self soothing stuff and other business is for my own good.

House Manners:  Working on all those things as she is a puppy. She will be a handful of love and frustrations with her puppy antics. She likes to crawl into the tiniest of places so puppy proofing is a must!

Basic Training:  We have started crate training as she absolutely hated it. She is doing much better now and settling soon after going to her kennel. She is kenneled overnight and is finally quite overnight and don't start whining until about 6am for a potty break. We are working on Sit to get attention and not jumping and respecting cats and old cranky dogs.

Other Dogs:  Eva is around about 8 or so other dogs and has been allowed to play with the larger breed adults. She is also learning to respect the older dogs that are not interested in a puppy jumping on them.

Cats:  Eva is a baby and can learn to respect cats, currently she is still a bit to much puppy and thinks of them as a fun toy. Her and the cats are working things out and it is important that she is taught to respect cats.

Kids:  Eve is still a pup so she will adjust fine to kids but also needs kids that are respectful to her.

Fencing:  Huskies are an escape artist dog, so it is important to have a secure yard with a tall fence to contain a husky. Eva loves to squeeze into small spaces and will already bite and tug at chain-link fences and her kennel at time. She will likely become a escape artist at some point especially if her exercise needs are not met or if she is left unsupervised for long periods of time in a yard.

Important Please Read:

All of our Husky/Northern breeds require fence photos if you have a yard so we give tips on containment if needed. You can quicken your adoption process by sending us some yard pics, focusing on the fence lines and gates after you send your application. This breed typically does better with a yard but we may have some Northern breeds or mixes that would be suited for apartments etc. please just ask. Please keep in mind if you want to own a husky you need to be open to the fact that containing this dog may require you to install a hot wire system (cost approx $125) this is quite often needed to preventing digging climbing or chewing through fences. A Hot wire is typically the best route to start with for a piece of mind. Installation is simple and can be done in under 2 hours on most yards.

Northern breeds are beautiful dogs but are also a challenge and demanding and can be very destructive and hard to contain when their needs are not met. Please learn a little more about the breed thru your own research if you are not familiar

Important PLEASE read if interested in adoption:

We have a pretty open adoption policy, apartments, unfenced yards, and young kids are okay, but only if the pet you are interested in is a good fit for that situation!!! Some dogs may require a fence of a certain type and height, due to safety, the breed or known history. We are looking for pet parents that provide vet care such as routine vaccines for their pets and heartworm prevention for dogs. Please understand we do cross check vet references and landowners/landlord policies and cannot process applications with incomplete or incorrect information.

We asked that you take your newly adopted dog for a vet exam in the first 30 days to establish with your vet and obtain their heartworm prevention prescriptions and have a fecal exam administered as some pets may need additional de-womer after leaving our care.

Please submit a Pre-Adoption Questionnaire  by clicking the hyperlink if visible or visiting   Our Home Page  to the application link  to show your interest in adoption. Only submit one app for any of our dogs, your app will be on file for at least 1 year. This questionnaire simply helps inform us if the dog you are interested in might match your families' dynamics based on what we have learned about that dog. All of our pets at True Friends Animal Rescue are featured on  Our Home Page  and can be accessed from our web listings, take a look as there may be more than one in our rescue that you like. if you don't find the information you are needing thru our websites, please submit an E-mail.
