Summer is a lovely girl whose family loved her dearly but they were unable to care for her any longer so she came to Fuzzy Pawz to find a new family to call her own.
This girl is a great small, yet sturdy size who might be a senior but she has lots of spunk and energy left. She loves soft blankets, cozy beds, and hanging out with her people. She is a social gal who is friendly with people and respectful dogs (she is past the stage of wanting to play with other dogs). She is reportedly good with kids, however, the foster home does not have children and we would not be comfortable putting her with children under 10. She is a bit too interested in the cat at her foster home, so a home with no cats would be recommended. She does bark at delivery drivers, does not like to be kenneled, and has an independent personality.
Her ideal retirement home is a calm, quiet environment where she would go for daily walks; her people would be home more often than not, and they would provide her with a cozy corner of the couch to cuddle up on. She loves to be pet and will gently remind you to keep petting her if you quit before she has had enough.
She does have the shedding coat of a Shiba Inu; a quality diet and regular brushing are important to her care.
