My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please read the bio in full for answers to your questions. In the event you have a question that is not covered in the bio, please email info@seniordoghaven.org. If interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application which can be found at https://seniordoghaven.org/adoption-process/.

Please note that because all of our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be about an hour of Wilmington, DE in order for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in person home visit.

Meet Teddy!
Teddy is a super laid back 14 year old Siberian Husky. He is housebroken, and will bark to let you know he needs to go out. He currently lives with 2 cats and does well with them. We think he would love a home with at least one other dog. He’s definitely more interested in meeting dogs on his walk than the human on the other end of the leash.

His mobility is great for a 14 year old 70 lb old man. However, he would do better in a home with limited stairs. He does fine on the 2 steps from my backyard into my home but a staircase would be a challenge for him.

He enjoys his twice daily walks. We go about half a mile in the morning and again in the evening. He will tell you when he is ready with a bark and look at his leash hanging by the door.

He is currently eating Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach Lamb & Oat Formula. He also wants about 1/4 cup of rice on top of his kibble to get him started. He is a foodie.
When he arrived to us he had some flaky skin which has cleared up well. He was a bit overweight when he arrived, but has lost a few pounds and is now at a good weight for him.

At 7pm again, he will let you know it is time for a Zuke's Hip Action soft treat. They are his favorite!
Teddy would be a great companion dog for an older dog who still has some pep in their step!
